This past February I was lucky enough to plan a last minute trip to Las Vegas for WPPI with my friend Carolyn.  It literally was the best trip ever! Not only because I had never been out west before, or even past Indiana, but also because I got to spend 5 straight days of living and breathing everything photography!  From soaking up all the knowledge around me, to meeting my product vendors at the trade show and hanging out with old and new friends.  I was so sad to finally come home but already excited for next year!  While I was out in Vegas I got to photograph two beautiful girls.  I met with Casey and Ronni literally 2 hours after I landed with two new photographer friends, Wendhy and Holli. I instantly was blown away by the Nevada landscape.   For a girl who love everything muted, naturally tones and simple… it was perfection to me.  Thank you so much Casey and Ronni for being wonderful models for us and thank you Wendhy for driving Holli and I around. Can’t wait till next year!

Photographers Spring Sale

I feel so lucky today.  I woke up this morning about 7:30 with no trouble.  Climb out of bed, took care of our dogs and instantly sat down at my computer to start work.  Not once did I sigh or complain to myself that I had to get up and go to work.  Not once did I wish I could sleep in.  Not once did I think to myself about another career choice.  I am so blessed to not only do what I love every day but to also have that be my job.  Being a photographer is truly my calling in life and I couldn’t ask for anything more.  Recently, after months of photographers asking,  I started offering mentoring to help other photographers grow and find their own paths as an artist.  I also recently, this year, put together Back to Basics, a posing guide, and The Boutique Experience, a guide to taking your senior portrait  business to the next level.  I have been more then grateful for all the support from fellow photographers for both and all the kind words that have been messaged, e-mailed and sent to me.  After sitting down this afternoon and taking time to really count my blessings I wanted to show everyone my gratitude for not only putting their faith in me to help them grow as a photographer but also for supporting me in everything I do.  So I wanted to put together a little spring/tax day sale because we all know tax day is not fun if you’re self employed.

Sarah was my AMAZING senior whose session we filmed for my up and coming behind the scenes video last month.  Which you will be able to see really soon.  She was such a trouper being in front of not only one, but two cameras, and having the energy to make it thorough our three hour shoot.  Normally being in front of one camera for an hour is tough but she definitely rocked it.  Thank you Sarah for being so patent with us as we filmed and tried new things. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your senior year!
