Lexi Vornberg is an on-location natural light photographer located in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Her work has been internationally featured in blogs and magazines and she has also recently become a mentor for other photographers.
Lexi loves taking the idea of a simple portrait and turning it into something more. Through her lens and vision she will not only capture your unique personality and style but also one of the most important times of your life.
Yesterday I was browsing around the internet when I came across Britt Croft photography’s blog post of her version of yearly goals. She calls them the 36 in 365 project. It was ironic that I came across this because I just finished going over my 2011 goals and writing my 2012 goals. As I was reading hers I almost felt like they were a set of completely different type of goals then what I wrote down. They seemed like goals that you would want to accomplish. Not to say I wouldn’t want to accomplish mine but mine are a little more on the ‘down and dirty’ side of the business not on the ‘I want to grow as a photographer’ side of the business. So they inspired me to transfer my so called 2012 goals to my business plan were they actual belong and write down 36 goals that will help me grow as a photograph and a person.
- Spend more time growing my friendships with other photographers.
- Have my photography published in a magazine.
- Take a vacation where I actually take time away from my business.
- Blog more personal things.
- Give more back to the photography community. (I do every month with L&L)
- Finish filling my studio with sample products and work.
- Buy a house with my husband.
- Pay off all my student loans. (3/4th of the way there)
- Pay off my car.
- Cook more for my family.
- Become an LLC.
- Complete a 365 project. ( You can see it here.)
- Photograph my dogs more.
- Plan and hold at least four Lemonade and Lenses gatherings this year. (One down.)
- Reach 4k likes on facebook.
- Take part in an online workshop.
- Buy a second body.
- Buy a tilt shift and a 35mm.
- Win an award for my photography.
- Have a ticket to WPPI 2013 by December!! (Actually broke down and went this year!)
- Get in shape/be more active.
- Play around with a Nikon.
- Actually have a newsletter this year.
- Stay caught up on blogging.
- Spend less time on Facebook.
- Don’t work on Sundays and use that day to spend time with my husband.
- Put time aside every month to do a personal shoot so that I don’t get burned out.
The last 9 are personal business goals that I have printed out and posted by my desk so that I may see them every day. So here is to the start of a new year, a clean slate and a long list of goals to accomplish!!
